Star Flyer Commences Proof of Concept for Operational Forecaster

NABLA Mobility and Star Flyer have commenced a Proof of Concept (PoC) for Operational Forecaster following the Memorandum of Understanding signed in October 2025. Training sessions were conducted on January 15 and 16 at Kitakyushu Airport in Fukuoka Prefecture.

Unstable weather caused by climate change and growing air travel demand are increasingly impacting airline operations. Operational Forecaster provides Operational Controllers (OCs) with quantitative delay forecasts from the pre-departure stage, indicating which flights are likely to be delayed and by how much. This visibility is intended to support early preparation and execution of necessary measures, such as aircraft or crew reallocation. Through this approach, the initiative aims to improve on-time performance, minimize flight cancellations, and enhance customer value.

During the PoC, we will assess how accurately Operational Forecaster predicts potential delays and their operational impact. Star Flyer is participating as the first trial partner for Operational Forecaster.
