NABLA Mobility Announces Trial of Weave with Jeju Air, NABLA’s AI-Powered Fuel Optimization Platform
As record jet fuel prices reshare the economics of flying, Jeju Air explores AI-driven fuel optimization ahead of the curve
TOKYO, Octover 6, 2026 - NABLA Mobility Inc. ("NABLA"), a Tokyo-based aviation technology company, today announced that Jeju Air Co., Ltd. ("Jeju Air"), Korea's first and largest low-cost carrier, has begun preparations for a trial of Weave, NABLA's AI-powered flight optimization software. The trial marks NABLA's first partnership in South Korea and represents another step in the company's continued global expansion of AI-powered technology.
The trial has been designed to eventually cover Jeju Air's operational network through a phased rollout, reflecting the level of commitment both companies are putting into the program. The program is currently in its setup phase, which focuses on data integration, system configuration, and preparations for Jeju Air’s operations. This will be followed by an operational trial, planned to begin later this year, during which Jeju Air will assess the platform’s performance in supporting pilots to identify fuel optimization opportunities in real time.
Saving fuel has been core to NABLA’s mission since day one, but the case for it has rarely been so urgent. Following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz earlier this year, jet fuel prices have surged to record levels, and IATA now expects the global airline industry’s net margin to fall to its weakest level since the pandemic. Weave was built to help airlines capture every fuel-saving opportunity in cruise-phase operations, and NABLA is committed to supporting airlines like Jeju Air through this period of exceptional cost pressure.
Weave complements pilots’ operational judgement by consolidating aircraft-specific performance, weight, and real-time weather data into recommendations that show the potential impact on fuel burn and arrival time. Accessible through an app on the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), Weave serves as a strategic advisor, providing options that do not compromise safety or on-time performance, while leaving all final decisions to the flight crew.
"Weave was built hand-in-hand with the pilots and dispatchers who fly every day. We couldn’t be more excited to bring our solution to South Korea at exactly the moment when fuel efficiency matters most to airlines," said Shinji Tanaka, Founder and CEO of NABLA Mobility.
